Load-out of Skirt-Piles for Baltic-2 Offshore-Substation

Because of very special ground conditions at the bottom of the sea at the Baltic-2 location the substation had to be placed on a jacket with extraordinary sized piles. With a diameter of more than 5 m and a single weight of 720 tons the named piles are more the 80 m in length. The load-out at the manufacturer’s premises in Rostock with a heavy load crawler-crane required a very detailed and precise planning due to the weight of the piles and the necessary outreach. Our experienced team of experts provided optimal support for client WeserWind GmbH, crane-operator, pile-manufacturer and marine warranty surveyor and took full responsibility and operational lead until the operation was concluded successfully.
