The load out of the „Meerwind“ topside was originally planned as a RoRo operation by utilizing SPMTs. Due to the fact that below the topside bottom a lot of cable routings and suspended access gangways already were installed, it became necessary to use a highly flexible and detachable transport interface between the SPMTs and topside main girders. For this scenario we developed concepts with flexible transport frames. In the end, we designed the frame with hinges and plug-in connections to allow assembling in tight and narrow space conditions.
